Dante Besong was born in 1983 in Mamfe. he is a fine artist whose passion for art gained manifestation as far back as in his primary school age. He was trained in fine art in Saint Joseph's College Sasse. He represented the school during the Junior Drawing Commonwealth Competition in 2002.
n the University of Buea, Dante was selected to represent the institution in the University Festival of Art & Culture (UNIFAC). He started painting the same year and uses mixed media for his paintings. His style can be characterised as surrealistic. He currently works as a cartoonist for the newspaper The Post.
50% of the revenues of this original chimpanzee drawing, signed by the artist, will go to the conservation of the Cross River Gorillas in South West Cameroon.
