Elephants are threatened by hunting and poaching for ivory and bushmeat, loss of habitat and migration routes due to cultivation, and conflicts between farmers and elephants. 80% of the funds raised through the elephant painting will be used for elephant conservation projects in East and West Africa including support for local conservation initiatives to protect and restore critical elephant habitats and corridors, human-elephant conflict mitigation, training of wildlife rangers and community education.
