| A challenging vacancy currently exists for an Interpretive Officer at West Coast National Park. Reporting to the People and Conservation Officer; the key performance areas of the successful incumbent would include the following: • Plan and present environmental education programmes in line with the National Curriculum Statement; • Promotion of the park’s image to the full range of park users ; • Establishment of sound relations with surrounding communities ; • Dissemination of information to visitors and local communities ; • Co-ordination and training of staff and community members in volunteer programmes, cultural heritage management programmes and economic empowerment programmes. REQUIREMENTS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities that are required for the job. • Grade 12 with qualification in Environmental Education • No less than three years practical experience in community development through conservation; running environmental education programmes , • Fluent in at least two of the Western Cape three official languages • Computer literacy • Good Communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) • Must be in possession of a Code 08 drivers license with PDP • Passion for working with children and a willingness to travel is a prerequisite A cost to company remuneration package based on the on the salary scale of a position with a Paterson CL job grade, will be offered.
