Painted Dog Conservation. Advancing knowledge of this Endangered Animal on the verge of extinction! Supporting Painted Hunting Dog Research in Zimbabwe directed by G.S.A. Rasmussen. The Project’s mission statement is: "Conservation through Action and Education" and their main aim is to conserve and increase the range and numbers of painted hunting dogs in Zimbabwe. They also hope to provide through research and experiment conservation tools and education material that can be used to protect this highly endangered carnivore throughout Africa. The Project's four aims:
- To identify through research the problems facing Painted Hunting Dogs in Zimbabwe.
- To actively reduce known causes of mortality and prevent those that may be looming.
- To disseminate the information regarding the problems facing this species and results so found.
- Current project locations of Painted Dog Conservation are : Hwange National Park, Forestry Commission Land, Private Safari lands bordering Hwange NP, Tcholotcho Communal Lands, Nyamandlovu Ranching area.
