The South African Shark Conservancy (SASC) was formed to address growing concerns about the conservation status of elasmobranchs.  Dedicated to fostering respect for elasmobranchs, SASC promotes the conservation and sustainable utilisation of marine resources through our research and outreach programmes and the development of cooperative partnerships.
