Zimbabwe | African Conservation Tillage Network |
The aim of the African Conservation Tillage Network (ACT) is to promote the adoption of conservation tillage practices on the African continent in order to assure a more sustainable use of the soil resources and to combat desertification. With this aim ACT contributes to efforts in order to improve food security and to alleviate poverty in Africa.
All individuals and groupings from within and outside Africa interested in practising and/or promoting conservation tillage in Africa are welcome to join the network. ACT promotes and facilitates the adaptation and adoption of conservation tillage principles and practices in Africa in order to contribute to sustainable land management, food security and improvement of rural livelihood.
The network is at present funded by the German Government and technically supported by GTZ. Some specific activities are also funded by participating partners. In the long term, the Network aims to self-finance its operations from membership fees and contributions from partners.
