Rainforest Resource and Development Centre (RRDC)
The Rainforest Resource and Development Centre (RRDC) is an independant not-for-profit organisation based in the Cross River State. The Rainforest Resource and Development Centre (RRDC) works to protect, preserve and conserve Nigeria’s rainforest and their resources through the promotion of action-oriented programs while employing a participatory people-centred approach, according high priority to equal opportunity to all members of society. As a strategy, the centre works to:
  • Identify and build linkages with persons, groups and institutions around the world dealing with rainforest issues and other tropics-related issues;
  • Collect information and publications (books, periodicals, videos, and other audiovisual materials) on rainforest issues from institutions, persons and groups, to build a comprehensive resource centre serving the needs of students, CBOs, NGOs, researchers, policy makers, Government and its related agencies, and other numerous stakeholders;
  • Research and publish documentation about Nigeria’s rainforest;
  • Identify training needs for all stakeholders including in-house personnel, and provide tuition;
  • Conduct campaigns on rainforest issues globally as well as locally, and facilitate practical applied interventions through collective participation.
