The Ethiopian Wildlife and Natural History Society (EWNHS) was established in 1966 with the original aim of increasing public awareness of the need to conserve Ethiopia's natural resources, animals, plants and the environment in particular. The society is a non-profit making association whose purposes are:
In an attempt to meet these aims the society holds monthly indoor and outdoor meetings, details of which are circulated to members in the monthly news letter. The society publishes a scientific journal, WALIA, and produces an educational magazine, AGAZEN, in English and Amharic. The society welcomes articles on any aspect of wildlife and natural history in either English for publication in WALIA or English/Amharic for AGAZEN.
