The Predator Conservation Trust (PCT) is a non-profit organisation based in Namibia. The key aim of the Trust is to conduct research and fieldwork to promote the long-term survival and conservation of Namibias free-ranging large carnivores and their habitats. A number of objectives have been set to achieve this aim, and these objectives have been split into several key areas - Research, Education and training, conservation, and working with the government. Their website aims to provide information on the various predators found in Namibia - Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Wild Dog, Spotted Hyaena and Brown Hyaena. In addition, the site aims to provide regularly updated information about the projects being undertaken by the Predator Conservation Trust. Conservation projects involve education, training and research as described above, but also go beyond that. It is important for any conservation project to include the local community if it is to succeed.
- To develop and implement appropriate management plans for all six species of large carnivores.
- To develop sustainable use programmes where required to address conflict between people and large carnivores.
- To engage in such other activities as may contribute to the long-term survival and conservation of Namibias free-ranging large carnivores and their habitats.
