SEPADO - Somali Environmental Protection and Anti-Desertification Organisation; legally constituted and registered as a voluntary Non-government Organisation formed to combat environmental problems of the war-torn Somalia. Due to the lack of central government in this country during the last 6 years, the environment is suffering greatly as a result of human destruction, in fact the situation is catastrophic and deteriorating day by day. Forest-burning and tree-cutting, land degradation at wells and boreholes, lack of decent road structures, merciless poaching of wildlife, foreign fishing and nuclear waste dumping from abroad are all playing their part.
