The Young Volunteers Association for Environmental Protection (A.J.V.P.E) is an association of young Togolese who have come together in an association to offer solutions to the environmental problems in our area. The objectives of A.J.V.P.E. are: to take action to safeguard the environment, to sensitize the population on environmental protection, to organize chat, debate and conference on the subject, to sustain and support any local initiative which falls in line with our objectives and to organize tree planting work camps for young volunteers. In addition, A.J.V.P.E. are looking to form partnerships with organisations who have similar objectives and that can assist them with information, training and any other support to help them attain their goals and objectives. Their aims and objectives include the following :
- safeguard the environment
- promote the development of local and rural activities and youth
- fight against childhood diseases, STDS (Sexually transmitted dseases) and AIDS
- promote intercultural exchange
- inform and raise awareness in the population on protection of the environment
- sustain local initiatives that promote community development
- create public infrastructures
- organise debates and conferences
- encourage a voluntary youth programme with the public at large.
