The mission of Great Cats of South Africa (GCSA) (a division of Millbank Lion Sanctuary and Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve) is an environmental quality protection agency working to protect our natural resources from abuse, neglect, waste or exploitation and preserve their availability for future generations.

Great Cats of South Africa is an affiliated member of Great Cats in Crisis and they are the largest natural sanctuary for lions in the World. Their habitats comprise 10 to 80 acre sections and they serve as one of the international homes for the White Lions of Timbavati. GCSA has rescued big cats from circuses aand zoos where they would have been put down. They have also given homes to captive-reared cats who have been reared purely to fight other animals such as bears and dogs.
