The Institute of Natural Resources, an Associate Institute of the University of Natal, is a South African-based, independent, non-profit, non-government organisation. The Institute of Natural Resources was established in 1980 to contribute towards the wise use of natural resources through the integration of conservation and development initiatives.
The functions of Natural Resource Management (Institute of Natural Resources) :
- Develop, test and refine natural resource management systems
- Review, evaluate and audit natural resource management systems
- Certify natural resource management systems
- Inform development planning
- Research topical issues in natural resource management
- Provide leadership in natural resource management
- Contribute effectively to teaching and training in natural resource management
