A number of non-governmental and international organizations based in Kenya have been working consistently towards sustainable agriculture, land and forest use. Elaborate know-how and technical expertise have been gathered through a series of projects and activities. However, these efforts and good interventions have only been co-ordinated and followed up at the production stage. Issues related to quality, pricing and marketing have not been emphasized. The main reason for this was the absence of an organisation, which could bring all the stakeholders together. That is why several stakeholders have established the Kenya Association of Forest Users (KAFU) to address thsese issues on a continuous basis. KAFU, a membership orgainization focuses on non-timber forest products, conservation and organic products.
