Pro-Natura
Pro-Natura's mission is to conserve biodiversity through integrated sustainable development projects adapted as models that are replicable at a regional level, in partnership with public entities, private initiatives, and organized civil society. In 1992, following the Rio Conference, Pro-Natura became one of the first NGOs from the Southern Hemisphere to internationalize its operations. Today it is a global organization with two principal hubs: Instituto Pró-Natura (Brazil) - responsible for the Americas, and Pro-Natura International (France) - responsible for Europe, Africa and Asia. Pro-Natura is active primarily in the following thematic areas:
  • Agroforestry and Tropical Forest Management
  • Recuperation of Degraded Areas in the Carbon Landscape
  • Conservation and Sustainable Use of Biodiversity Values
  • Renewable Energy
  • Collective Health and Environmental Education
  • Large, Integrated projects Incorporating Several or All of the Above Elements
