Zimbabwe | Aloe, Cactus and Succulent Society of Zimbabwe |
The Aloe, Cactus and Succulent Society of Zimbabwe was founded in March 1969 affiliated to the Zimbabwe National Conservation Trust and the Zimbabwe Scientific Association.
THE OBJECTIVES OF THE SOCIETY ARE:
a) to unite all who wish to foster a wider appreciation and knowledge of ales, cacti, cycads, palms and succulents
b) to promote the extension of members collections of aloes, cacti, cycads, palms and succulents on a disciplined basis and to serve their interests in this connection.
c) to work for the preservation and conservation of the indigenous flora of Zimbabwe, particularly aloes, cycads, palms and succulents in their natural habitat, and to collaborate with the appropriate authorities in this regard
d) to strive for the re-establishment in botanical gardens, parks or other areas, of species of aloes, cycads, palms and succulents threatened by extinction
e) to carry out and encourage research work on aloes, cycads, palms and succulents and thereby expand knowledge in this field.
f) to co-operate and liaise with appropriate Government Departments and bodies to further the aims of the Society.
g) to affiliate to any Society having similar objects.
