Friends of Nylsvley and Nyl floodplain is a voluntary organisation dedicated to the conservation and preservation of Nylsvley Nature Reserve and the Nyl Floodplain. This unique area, in South Africa's Limpopo Province, is a RAMSAR site, a Wetland of International Importance and has been identified by BirdLife South Africa as an Important Bird Area (IBA).
The Nyl floodplain is South Afica's largest ephemeral floodplain and is surrounded by savannah woodland and grassland that together provide varied habitats for its renowned Biodiversity. About 20% of the southern section of the 60km long floodplain is formerly protected as the Nylsvley Nature Reserve.
