Friends of Nylsvley and Nyl floodplain is a voluntary organisation dedicated to the conservation and preservation of Nylsvley Nature Reserve and the Nyl Floodplain. This unique area, in South Africa's Limpopo Province, is a RAMSAR site, a Wetland of International Importance and has been identified by BirdLife South Africa as an Important Bird Area (IBA). The Nyl floodplain is South Afica's largest ephemeral floodplain and is surrounded by savannah woodland and grassland that together provide varied habitats for its renowned Biodiversity. About 20% of the southern section of the 60km long floodplain is formerly protected as the Nylsvley Nature Reserve.

Nylsvley Nature Reserve (4 000ha) is a Provincial Reserve run by the Limpopo Tourism and Parks Board. It is open to the public every day of the year from 06h00-18h00.
There is no need to book for day visits, we advise you to take your own drinking water.

Entrance fees: Adults: R10, Children 6-12 & Pensioners: R5, Vehicles: R20, Bicycles: R5, Combi: R30, Bus/Truck: R50, Motobike R60, Camp per site/night R50, Group camp R50 per person/night. (Correct at January 2005)
