The South African National Parks (SANParks) invite applications for a research scientist in the area of savanna ecosystem ecology. The primary focus of the research project is to understand interactions between nutrients, rainfall and grazing in savanna ecosystems at Kruger National Park. In addition to conducting a specific research mission, the applicant will coordinate and oversee project activities at Kruger National Park during the field season.

Conservation International requires an overall manager for its Western Kgalagadi Conservation Corridor Project. The aim of the project is to establish two 'Conservation Corridors' linking the existing Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park with the Central Kalahari Game Reserve in Botswana and addressing both wildlife and social issues. The position will be based in Gaborone. Responsibilities include managing a small team and ensuring that the project aims are achieved in an integrated holistic manner within budget.

The Department of Botany at the University of Cape Town requires both a Research Technician and Research Manager for their research program in the Kruger National Park. Funded by the Mellon Foundation the research is focused on gaining a better understanding of how leaf-phenology influences the dynamics of savanna ecosystems in southern Africa.

Branch Marine and Coastal Management (Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism) is seeking a seabird fieldworker who will be employed under contract for a period of 18 months, commencing 1 July 2008. The appointment will be in terms of a project being conducted under the NORSA Programme, a programme of co-operation between Norway and South Africa.
