The Barclays International Climate Challenge, Kenya,  will target about 50 Secondary Schools in several districts spread around country. The project will initially be implemented through 4 Kenyan NGO’s (ERMIS, KYCEP, ICE, and PORINI) and run for one year with prospects of up-scaling and extension upon successful implementation. The project will be implemented in collaboration with the relevant Government ministries, Companies, INGO’s and Donor Agencies.

Fellowships for on-board training, Atlantic Meridional Transect (AMT) Cruise, POGO-SCOR

The Partnership for Observation of the Global Oceans (POGO) and its partner, the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR), announce a special Fellowship for on-board training on an Atlantic Meridional Transect (AMT) Cruise.  One berth has been reserved on the next AMT cruise for the selected candidate. The programme is designed to promote training and capacity building leading towards a global observation scheme for the oceans.

South African National Parks is looking for a Mapper for the Invasive Species Control Unit Gis Hub, based in Rondevlei. The position is on a short term contract for six months with the main responsibility of mapping alien invasive plants within selected Parks.

  • Limbe Wildlife Centre in SW Cameroon takes care of infant primates that are lucky enough to be rescued from the illegal pet trade. In November 2007, ACF, ERuDeF and Daniel Taylor organised an art workshop with 13 Cameroonian artists in the centre in order to raise awareness and funding for great apes conservation.
