OPPORTUNITIES IN 2008 FOR INTERNATIONAL SHORT TERM VOLUNTEERS
CCB is offering limited, short term volunteering opportunities to non-residents of Botswana in 2008. We are currently only inviting applications from individuals who posses administrative skills, with qualifications and/or proven experience, to assist the project for a period of 1 - 2 months (2 months is the maximum duration). Monthly volunteering fees apply and the positions are office-based. Successful applicants will operate from our facilities at Mokolodi Nature Reserve.

Technical Specialist - Land Use Planner/Ecologist, Wildlife, Landscapes and Development for Conservation in Northern Uganda – Uganda Country Program
The Wildlife Conservation Society currently seeks candidates for the position of Project Director for the Wildlife, Landscapes and Development for Conservation in Northern Uganda – WILDCO Project. This is a major new USAID funded project with a budget of $4.8 m over three years, which will strengthen biodiversity conservation in selected priority landscapes in this region by improving the available knowledge base on the biodiversity of the area, working to strengthen the management of the most important protected areas within these landscapes, improving land use planning and management, and promoting biodiversity friendly land and natural resource use options in key corridors and buffer zones. This will involve working closely with local government, land owners and communities, as well as protected area authorities, and setting up mechanisms and economic incentives to manage corridors with biodiversity conservation as a primary goal.
