The South African Ostrich Business Chamber obtained funding to initiate a year-long process through which farmers in the major ostrich-producing areas in the Klein Karoo will be encouranged to implement improved land management practices, utilising veld in an improved and sustainable way, and ensure the sustainability of the ostrich industry and continued international market access.

The International Gorilla Conservation Program (IGCP) - a coalition of the African Wildlife Foundation, Fauna & Flora International and World Wide Fund for Nature - is hiring for the position of Communications Officer, based in Kigali, Rwanda. The Communications Officer will bring additional full time capacity in the field of communications, complementing the efforts of IGCP staff in the protection and conservation of the mountain gorilla and its habitat and increasing the profile of IGCP activities at a national, regional and international level. The position will complement the existing IGCP team, bringing important skills that are not available within the current IGCP staff.

AWDC is a non-profit research and conservation project working to establish a viable metapopulation of endangered African wild dogs (Lycaon pictus) in eastern Zambia. The wild dogs are being utilised as a flagship species to conserve large areas of habitat, and to increase connectivity between two existing National Parks.
