The Tanzania Forest Working Group (TFWG) is hosted by the Tanzania Natural Resource Forum (TNRF). The TFWG is seeking to employ a Communications and Campaign Manager to lead a new communications and advocacy campaign. The initiative will support forest-adjacent communities to become aware of the economic value of forest resources and to begin to seek and receive benefits arising from sustainable forest management. The initiative will also work to ensure that key forest governance issues are recognised and addressed through increased stakeholder awareness and the adoption of appropriate stakeholder actions focused on stopping the illegal timber trade and promoting best practices in forest management.

We are looking for several postgraduate students interested in ecological genetics and molecular ecology, to form part of a major 5 year collaborative project with the Working for Water Programme and the University of Adelaide / Herbarium of South Australia.

Tanzania's Katavi National Park, with a size of 4,471 sq. km., is the third largest park in the country. Located on the western   side towards Lake Tanganyika, the park is endowed with high densities and diversity of herbivores, carnivores, birdlife as well as insects. 

The Department of Botany at the University of Cape Town, together with the
South African National Biodiversity Institute and the University of
California, Berkeley are currently involved in a collaborative research project
examining the response of the unique fynbos flora to climate change.
