Grants Officer (part-time) - Stellenbosch
Peace Parks Foundation (PPF) supports governments to facilitate the establishment of transfrontier conservation areas or peace parks and develop human resources, thereby supporting sustainable economic development, the conservation of biodiversity and regional peace and stability. This position will be based at Peace Parks Foundation’s Head Office in Stellenbosch.

The vision of utilising Africa's competitive edge - its unspoilt nature and wildlife - is the mechanism that could sustainably accelerate economic development on the continent. The idea of peace parks is to create peace, prosperity and stability for generations to come by using conservation as a land use-option.

Responsibilities:
•    Researching and sourcing grant funding opportunities for tailored projects;
•    Drafting and submission of funding applications in accordance with the identified and prioritised Peace Parks Foundation’s management, training and project activity needs;
•    Passing on relevant information required for the database, website, annual report;
•    Maintaining the prospects fundraising database;
•    Assist in the development of specific fundraising campaigns; 
Key skills:
•    At least two years of experience drafting project and funding applications;
•    Degree in Conservation Biology, Natural Resources Management, or related degree;
•    Excellent English written and verbal communication skills;
•    Proven organisational and time management skills;
•    Accuracy, consistency and attention to detail;
•    Familiarity with IT programmes including Word, Excel and Internet;

Desirable:
•    Experience in funding application process especially regarding institutional donors;
•    Postgraduate Studies in Development, Sociology, Public Administration, International Relations or related degree;
•    Knowledge of French;
•    Familiarity with the not-for-profit organizations’ work.
