GOUKAMMA NATURE RESERVE CapeNature is seeking a qualified and experienced person for the maintenance of the infrastructure, tourism facilities and environmental education facilities on the Goukamma Nature Reserve. Key responsibilities: Regular inspections of infrastructure & facilities; planning with regards to time, equipment and materials for repairs; carrying out repairs; carrying out maintenance of infrastructure & equipment; scheduling of repairs by means of a job card system; management of stores, tools and supplies; supervision of staff and contractors; quality inspections of contract work; assist in patrolling efforts when required. REQUIREMENTS: • Grade 8 or equivalent • 10 Years experience (minimum) • A valid 08 drivers license plus rough terrain driving skills, the possession of a code 10 licence will be a strong recommendation • Physical fitness to perform strenuous duties • Technical knowledge and experience of repair and maintenance in carpentry, metalwork, painting and fiberglass repairs • Technical knowledge and skills to operate welding machines, water and sewage pumps, circular saws, sanders, gas installations building tools • The incumbent must be prepared to work over weekends according to a shift duty roster • Willing to participate in sea based operations RECOMMENDATIONS: • Experience in eco-tourism, maintenance of buildings, conservation legislation will be a strong recommendation ENQUIRIES: Mr. K. - Limbe Wildlife Centre in SW Cameroon takes care of infant primates that are lucky enough to be rescued from the illegal pet trade. In November 2007, ACF, ERuDeF and Daniel Taylor organised an art workshop with 13 Cameroonian artists in the centre in order to raise awareness and funding for great apes conservation.
