Tour Consultant & Guides
BIRDING AFRICA is hoping to grow our team and fill the following full
and half time positions with candidates who enjoy wildlife travel,
birds and organising.
-office-based Tour Consultant
-bird, botany and wildlife Guides
Birding Africa are a group of biologists, bird book authors and
conservationists who are drawn together by a common passion: sharing
our enthusiasm for Africa’s birds with others. Since 1997, we have
been leading tours around our home town of Cape Town and further into
Africa and Madagascar for top international tour companies and small
groups. We are a growing specialist eco-tour operator, offering set
and tailor-made itineraries to groups or private individuals who have
a keen interest in
birds and natural history. While many of our trips are based in the
Cape, we organise annual trips to Namibia, Botswana, Cameroon, Gabon,
Sao Tome, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Mali, Madagascar and Uganda.
The main functions of a Tour Consultant would be liaising with
clients by e-mail in order to plan and reserve their birding and
wildlife holidays with us. While knowledge of birding is preferred,
we work with a team of birding specialists who give their input into
the itineraries themselves, so being an expert birder is not
required. Other functions would involve making reservations with
suppliers and general office work. Our offices are in a garden
cottage in Pinelands. Half or full time candidates are considered. We
will favour candidates who are mature, good communicators, and well-
organised. The ability to speak French is an added bonus.
We are also looking for a bird, botany and wildlife guides who would
be interested to work on a freelance or part time basis.
More details about the company are available on our website at http://www.birdingafrica.com
