Environmental Management Internship Available - Botswana
ESA is a Botswana based environmental consulting company based in Maun, at the foot of the Okavango Delta. Our company requires the services of a junior environmental consultant to assist with projects in and around the Delta. ESA specializes in management plans for wildlife concessions and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA’s) for camps and lodges. An intern is sought for an initial 3-month probation contract with the potential for an extension thereafter.

Requirements include:
• At least an Honours degree but preferably a Masters degree majoring in one or more of the
following areas: environmental science/ management, geography, socio-ecology, ecology,
planning and development studies
• Computer/ Geographic Information Science (GIS) literacy
• Good English writing skills
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Valid Passport
• Valid driver’s licence
Further post-graduate studies or other training and/or experience in environmental management or planning would be advantageous.

Duties will include:
• Data processing (GIS, questionnaires, checklists)
• Project communication and facilitation
• Organising and attending meetings and workshops
• Report writing and editing
• General office management
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

  • Limbe Wildlife Centre in SW Cameroon takes care of infant primates that are lucky enough to be rescued from the illegal pet trade. In November 2007, ACF, ERuDeF and Daniel Taylor organised an art workshop with 13 Cameroonian artists in the centre in order to raise awareness and funding for great apes conservation.
