One year post-doctoral research position at Woods Hole Research Center reporting to the Principal Investigator, with responsibilities in remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS) data analysis and WebGIS development in support of a land-use change and ecosystem/carbon dynamics and conservation monitoring system in Africa.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with the development of methods to map land
cover/land use change, deforestation, biomass/carbon stocks, and model
species distributions using satellite imagery for projects in East and
Central Africa. Maintain GIS databases for protected area conservation.
Travel to Africa 3-5 weeks annually to assist with remote sensing/GIS

- Limbe Wildlife Centre in SW Cameroon takes care of infant primates that are lucky enough to be rescued from the illegal pet trade. In November 2007, ACF, ERuDeF and Daniel Taylor organised an art workshop with 13 Cameroonian artists in the centre in order to raise awareness and funding for great apes conservation.
