Rhino escapes from E Cape game reserve
A Black Rhino has escaped from the Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve near Willowmore in the Eastern Cape.

The rhino is one of six that were released into the reserve last year as part of an exchange between South Africa, Namibia and Zambia.

Eastern Cape Parks Board regional manager, Wayne Erlank, says the rhino poses no real threat to the community as it is still wandering in the wilderness.

Erlank says: "The rhino escaped last night, we have dispatched a helicopter and a vet to the area where the rhino was last seen."

Shortly after arriving at the Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve, one of the rhinos fell to its death from a mountain.
