Tanzania: Park Wardens Grade II (10 posts), TANAPA
Tanzania National Parks is recruiting 10 Park Wardens Grade II. Location: Any of the National Parks. Reporting Relationship: To Chief Park Wardens in the respective Parks.

Qualifications
Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Wildlife Management / Natural Resources or equivalent qualifications from recognized Institution with a minimum of Upper Second Class and grade IIA for degree and diploma holders respectively.

(i) Experience
At least three years working experience in wildlife activities.

(ii) Key Responsibilities

Carrying out daily anti poaching patrols in collaboration with Park Rangers.
Identifying and solving persistent problems in the guard stations.
Carrying out performance evaluation of conservation activities in duty sections.
Collaborating with the NGO’s and CBO’s in educating villagers on wildlife conservation and building respective relationship between them and the Park.
Preparing daily, weekly and monthly work plan and progress reports for Park Management.
Attending meetings concerning conservation, peace and security at village and district level.
Collaborating with surrounding villages in identifying income generating activities and other social development projects.
Presenting evidence in courts of Law concerning all issues pertaining to poaching or banditry within the Parks.
(iv) Age limit: Not above 35 years of age

(v) Salary Scale:
TANAPA G.6 (i.e. TShs. 668,700 x 8,100 – 757,800) per month.

  • Limbe Wildlife Centre in SW Cameroon takes care of infant primates that are lucky enough to be rescued from the illegal pet trade. In November 2007, ACF, ERuDeF and Daniel Taylor organised an art workshop with 13 Cameroonian artists in the centre in order to raise awareness and funding for great apes conservation.
