Applicants are invited to fill a Lectureship Leave Replacement position in the Department of Zoology for the period 1st July 2008 to 30th June 2009. The minimum requirement for the position is an MSc in Zoology, preferably with some teaching experience.

The appointee will be required to undertake a full academic teaching load in Zoology as well as assist with other departmental matters as and when required. Teaching content will include Introductory Zoology, Anatomy and Physiology, Embryology, Aquatic Conservation Management and Research Methodology. The university operates on a modular system which is effectively two semester courses equivalent of a one year course.

A second staff member in the Department has applied for sabbatical leave from July 2009 to June 2010. The possibility therefore exists that a further one year’s teaching contract may become available during the course of the current contract.

  • Limbe Wildlife Centre in SW Cameroon takes care of infant primates that are lucky enough to be rescued from the illegal pet trade. In November 2007, ACF, ERuDeF and Daniel Taylor organised an art workshop with 13 Cameroonian artists in the centre in order to raise awareness and funding for great apes conservation.
