The Cats Unlimited Wildlife Foundation is dedicated to the conservation of wildlife in the Khomas Hochland area, central Namibia. Our primary conservation focus is on the species Leopard, Cheetah and Brown Hyena. Our aim is to further restore, protect and research the populations and habitat of these animals in the Khomas Hochland area. With our volunteer expeditions we provide financial input and human resources that make conservation possible. Our activities are: Researching the population of threatened species and their ecology in a well defined area. Once this is known, see how these predators can be best managed with the least life stock loss for the farmer by targeting and removing the “right” - and not any - predator of the area. We raise awareness in the local farming community, and share our knowledge with other organisations with similar positive aims. Only if necessary, we rescue and rehabilitate injured or neglected threatened species. We also aim to provide employment and education for local communities. Tourists can join our research expeditions and make a contribution to our efforts. For further information, please have a look at our website. |
