The Program Director for Niassa National Reserve works with the Reserve Warden to oversee, coordinate and improve the conservation and development of the Reserve. Responsible for planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and reporting on support towards the co-management of the Reserve. Protecting wildlife from poaching, coordinating and overseeing concession operators and ensuring that benefits from conservation flow to local communities and they support Reserve efforts are the key challenges.
The Finance Director is based in Yaounde, Cameroon and undertakes regular work travel to various WCS project sites in the country. This position is responsible for management of the financial systems, reporting to New York office and donors, country budgetary reporting and controls, monitoring and compliance of internal controls, conduct/coordinate operation reviews of project sites, cash management. Managing a growing team currently made up of five staff.
Reports to the Regional Director of Sudano-Sahel Region. Secondary report to the Deputy Director of Finance & Administration of the Africa Program. This position will involve regular travel to WCS Country Offices within the region (including Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad, Central African Republic, South Sudan, Ethiopia)) approximately 30% of time.
