SANCCOB Marketing & Fundraising Coordinator

SANCCOB, a leading marine conservation non-profit organization, seeks to employ a Marketing & Fundraising Coordinator to join their dynamic team in the Eastern Cape, Cape St. Francis. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Create and manage awareness of seabird and marine conservation issues in the Eastern Cape and grow SANCCOB’s brand through marketing, public relations, media, events and awareness 
  • Develop, implement and manage SANCCOB’s marketing activities and campaigns in the Eastern Cape (and further where applicable) 
  • Plan and implement marketing and fundraising events (auction, festival events, market activations, exhibitions, centre events, etc.) 
  • Create revenue-generating opportunities within the Eastern Cape (and further where applicable) and grow the existing income earned in the area 
  • Develop, promote, manage and attend to the in-store souvenir shop and ensure that monthly sales targets are met, sufficient stock levels are maintained and the procurement of new items is continuously developed 
  • Produce press releases for local and international media and supporters, and manage media relations 
  • Maintain existing stakeholder relationships and develop new stakeholder relationships that will benefit SANCCOB 
  • Assist the Marketing and Fundraising Officer (in the Western Cape) with SANCCOB’s social media sites, social media planning, content creation and producing marketing materials 
  • Recruit, train and manage volunteers and interns for marketing, awareness and fundraising activities 

Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 2 years demonstrable marketing, media or promotional experience 
  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, media or public relations preferred 
  • Ability to work against a performance target and exercise strict budget control on events and marketing budgets 
  • Proven project management skills for events and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines 
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently and within a larger team 
  • Photography and design skills advantageous 
  • Valid Code 8 drivers licence
