GMO Research and Monitoring Internship

Applicants should be science students interested in gaining practical experience in research.

Enthusiastic students with an MSc degree are urged to apply. No prior working experience is required but good grades at university and a keen interest in biological sciences and the environment will be a distinct advantage.

Who is eligible to apply? We invite applications from unemployed MSc graduates and preference will be given to students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.

Potential interns should have a background in the following research areas:

- Ecology

- Entomology

- Plant biotechnology

- Agriculture

- Plant breeding

- Genetics

- Pest management

- Agro-biodiversity

Applicants must be prepared to do field work and have a valid driver's licence.

Value of internship: The monthly stipend offered is fixed at R6 000. No other benefits apply as this is an internship position.

Duration: August 2012 – July 2013
